DOCUMENT YOUR READING JOURNEY
Reading Passport & Book Merit Badge Program
The Bibliotheca Passport is your guiding star to expanding your literary palate and discovering new treasured reads. Document your favorite reads along the way and add cute fabric reading merit badges to your library tote. It’s time we start rewarding ourselves for doing more of what we love.
Why Reading Passport & Merit Badges?
The Bibliophile System spawned from the desire to reward myself for reading more books and reveling in genres I hadn’t thought to explore. As kids, there are a plethora of merit programs encouraging us to try new things and giving us a map of all the explorations we’ve voyaged—as adults, not so much. And let’s face it, it’s easy to say no to something fun (and beneficial) in lieu of all life’s other responsibilities. Thus, the passport and badge program was born (and will continue to grow with new reading challenges to encourage and document your bookish life.
Friendly Competition
Create a community around your reads and swap new favorites.
Look Back on Your Favorites
Your reading passport acts as a map showcasing everywhere your reading has led you (with some other literary fun thrown in).
Helps You Prioritize Reading
Doing something because we love it (especially in our fast-paced, always-busy way of life today) often gets thrown to the wayside. Setting a goal with a physical reward will give you something to work toward, allowing you to indulge in countless reading hours guilt-free.
Discover New Genres, Tropes & More
It’s natural to have a favorite genre or trope, and even more natural to stick to what we know we love. The Bibliophile System encourages you to step outside of what you’re used to and discover books you may have never tried out (and loved) otherwise.
Who Is the Reading Passport Program For?
Avid Readers
Take a step outside of typical reading journals and enjoy a new take on documenting all your latest reads.
Aspiring Readers
Maybe you haven’t picked up a book since high school (and you hated it then). Often those who don’t like reading just haven’t found the stories or the medium through which they enjoy consuming books. This journal aims to help you uncover books you’ll actually enjoy.
Book Club Leaders
Take a new approach to your book club with the reading passport and merit badge program. Encourage retention and give your group a guided path toward their upcoming readers. For example, a romance-focused book club may choose to read through all the tropes together and reward themselves with the Meet Cute badge upon completion.
